Fast forwards 3 months while sorting a couple of things I progiler to do a Clean Win 10 Install, only to find that my wheel porfiler behaving as if the power supply has broken, I tinker and fiddle for ages and there is no way this thing will work, so I start searching the Internet.
Logitech is an obvious choice so I tap in G25 only to logitecn the current software released in Jan does not support the G25 or G27, and prominent in the page is Logitech trying to sell me a G25 power supply. You can scroll down and find older versions of the software - but select 64bit in the drop down and you'll see as you click download it defaults to 32BIT - which won't work with mine and many other systems.

Went into "edit assignments" and it actually lets me assign the left and right view switches for steering. This is, of course, not what I want, as it ignores any input from the steering wheel.

I bought it off craigslist locally at the time. When I tried to use the wheel I could see it in windows but it never functioned properly in game until I realized I was missing one crucial component for the wheel.
The power brick that was needed was somehow missing and I ended up getting one from Amazon, from then on has been smooth sailing.
As for pushing the buttons and the wheel "moving" and "locking", I believe that is the logitech software itself. It seems to have pre programmed certain functions when in the actual logitech interface for when you push certain buttons. If I can recall, there are functions like "helicopter" "car engine" etc Hope this makes some sense and helps you out!!

The following also assumes the G25 also works on Win10, as does the G Interestingly when I re-opened Device Manager just now the wheel still shows, but Device Manager says it's not connected Previously the G27 was listed twice with one supposedly active and the other not.
